Not withstanding the ethics of said show how did the BBC manage to cut from one of the biggest and most influential bands over the last 20 years eg Metallica playing their most famous song and then screw up 20 minutes later over Spinal Taps performance....just so we had to put up with Wossy and his scyncophants
Least Foo Fighters got to sell another CD tonight.... 8)

Absolutely, my thoughts exactly, and when did Ken Dodd start playing drums for talliwaker.

i could be cynical but i dont expect one of those bands gives a monkeys butt for the environment climate change or whatever
lets all do our bit by flying/trucking in all our kit and inviting thousands of fans to train/bus/drive in to see us :? and then tell them to turn off the odd lightbulb

One thing did strike me recently ..
There was a "big" publicity stunt where they turned off the lighting in london, not all of it, but the stuff that floods the house of commons, the eye, that sort of thing for an hour to show how much energy we waste ...
If that was such a good idea, why don't they just turn them off every night ?
How much energy is wasted by businesses that leave sodium lighting on advertising themselves when they're shut ? how many computers are left on needlessly ? [1]
I know they say that energy efficiency and charity begin at home, but it really does seem that it's also where it ends at the moment. At work we have a recycling scheme which the staff have arranged and manage themselves as the local council offers *no* recycling facilities for commercial use, on this front (the encourage recycling one) alone that seems strange ...
Then again, I'm probably just cynical :)
[1] Whilst I know it's tempting, the Ramblers Association web server doesn't count here, nor does Greenpeace's
