Title: Very Quick PC Question
Post by: Bush Tucker Man on July 11, 2007, 16:04:34
When sites are viewed/items ordered on one PC, are they visible;
1. In the history/cookies of another PC??
2. On the internet browser account? (in my case Blue Yonder)
3. Or simply on the used PC?

I want to purchase/organise something for SWMBO, but she also uses my PC & goes back to find files/sites/'on-line shops' she's previously been viewing.

As you can appreciate I don't want to spoil the surprise when she's looking for her own stuff.

If you delete the browsing history and cookies, she won't be able to tell... course if you use cookies for things like online banking log in or mud club login, you'll have to enter your details afresh.

Course... she aint stupid... as soon as she see's the browsing history has gone... she'll think you've been browinsg those sites...!   :shock:  :oops:

If you use Safari (now downloadable for the PC on Apple's website) you should have an option for Private Browsing;  this disables recording any history / cookies / other private data for as long as you want it to.  I'm assuming it's on the PC version as well as on the Mac but I've not checked.

In that case, just delete browsing history & cookies on spare laptop... nothing will appear on the other PC.

Hope it's a success... whatever it is!!

Browse history and cookies are stored on the PC that was used.
