Hi Guys,
Today, I noticed that the rear near-side of my newly acquired 2002 D2 ES appeared to be drooping a little - sure enough, I measured it up and found there was a difference of nearly 1.5 inches between the rear near and off-sides :(
I measured the air springs, with the engine off, engine running and with the rear fully raised in 'off road' mode - the springs seemed the same length regardless, but the 1.5 inch difference in body lean remained constant...
I would have thought that SLS would keep the rear level?
There was also an intermittant clanking noise when the engine was running, coming from under the car (but not from the engine itself).
It's going for a service tomorrow, but has anybody got any ideas what this might be (I hope it's not a twisted chassis).
Cheers,
Nick

The 'clanking' noise is proberbley your compressor trying to pump up one of the air bags, had this on one we had put new bags on & hey presto sat level again,
Hope this helps

Thanks John.

Just remembered
before that we had the compressor 'clanking' all the time, was due to being stuck in a field for nearly 12 months  , cured that by changing the compressor, if you take it apart it's just like any other starter/alternater inside :? if you know what I mean :?

All well thanks to Rick at RM Motors at Rushden - top man - height sensors needed recalibrating! :D

found a pair of them in the shed  had forgot all about them

What did it cost you for the suspension recalibration?
I just has an air bag explode and may need this done when i fix it all back again...

Sorry, don't know - it was done as part of the servicing...
