Morning all
This is comming to you all from the wonders of wireless in a Roadchef....
Thought I'd try and get away from it all this weekend, first choice was Skye but then couldnt get hold of the mates up there so Billing was the next obvious choice....
Well headed off at around 8 and was making steady progress untill.... I stopped for a coffee at Durham. Left there at 1030 and got 15miles down the road to find every flashing there lights at me. So I thought Id better pull over and see whats the matter. To my horror I found that I had no side lights on the front or the rear. Checked the fuses and anything else and couldnt find the fault so out with the mobi.... Lets call the RAC..... Bad move the call started at 2317 and ended at 0040 most of that time I was being held in a que... After speaking to the very helpful person I found out that he had at that time 117 calls waiting and over 700 waiting for recovery trucks to be tasked to them. This of course was in the midlands area...he said in some cases they weren't able to guarantee an arrivial time which was looking at some time later today (21/0707). I hope that was knowbody from here.
Anyway so about 1am I have a RAC contractor turn up, he didnt know much about landys but he muddled on and we ripped the fuse box out... to find a very burnt out wire so we did a tempoary bodge to get the lights on and me back on the road... well as far as the nearest services so I can get some snooze before heading back over the border and to start playing with wires....
So this has turned out to be a little more eventful that it should have been... looks like Im going to spend the weekend at home when I eventually get back there sometime tomorrow....
Those of you who are at Billing I hope you don't get too washed out and you have a safe journey home.
Tata for now all, Im off to find a dark corner and some kip...

leave the bodge up till after the weekend get out there and have fun. wiring can get done on a week night nice weather here in West Highlands \:D/ .
If you drop by ye can always stick a tent in the garden no charge and Iv'e plenty of wire and spare fuses if ye get stuck.
Cheers H1

Thanks for great response's to my story......
Now at home having spent the afternoon removing a burnt-out sidelight switch unit and replacing with one that came with the 110.... Sorry Rich to hear of your problems, I would have come to your rescue but was otherwise engaged....
Those of you at Billing I hope you get home safe, and those still waiting on the the RAC have a good crossword book as I SPY gets a bit boring on your own....
