does anyone know how i can get a bocsh pump back to standard settings it has been messed with big time.ie star wheel, diapham, fuel adjuster ans hex nut
-
What seems to be the problem with it. Generally the star wheel is turned 4/5 clicks in the anti-clockwise position, and the diaphram has a large step at the bottom. Point the largest point of the step towards the engine.
You may need to adjust it in ver small increments to stop the smoke. I moved mine less than 1/8th of a turn to cure this.

If it has been completely messed up then the best way is to take it off and have it put on a proper flow rig and recalibrated at a Diesel Specialist. Typically this would be about £100 - £150.
Other wise it's just a case of trail and error....
What are you getting at the moment?? - too much smoke?
Sharpshooter:
Starwheel wise... anti clockwise increases the pre load, so reduces the fuel delivery rate, to get better power you want to be turning it clockwise  - which reduces the preload on the diaphragm.

Sorry matey. Was doing it by memory. :)

its a second hand one of a friend who took it apart to clean it ..Its for a engine that came with out a pump for my rebuild project

Then i would do as sugested. Take it to a diesel specialist to optimise the output for you. :)
