Hi everyone,
I was just wondering about the EGR removal. Its legal it seems as many people have done it (?). Would it improve anything on our disco, if so what and buy how much? (We wouldn't be expecting big differences by the way). Oh and it seems easy to fit aswell, as the blanking plate just stops the fuems from going back through the engine right? Or do we have to start removing that pipe or something. Anyway, chuck us your knowledge on it, thanks in advance!
Edit: Would it effect emissions by any way? Would it still pass M.O.T?

Yes it will pass the MOT as the testr doesn't include the EGR really. Whether it's really legal I wouldn't like to say.
SO folks remove the EGR system completely and fit the balning plate to the exhaust manifold, others just slip it into the pipe union on the top intercooler hose.
Either way it will stop soot entering the inlet which mixes with oil vapout drom the breather and clogs up the inlet plenum with a nasty sticky goo.
I've routed the breather to a filter and plugged the brether pipe but I'm going to need a catch tank for it long term.

Thanks for the info RRB. I've also just got a load of info from some eblag descriptions.

Very easy and worthwhile mod (as per my post on LRP)

As above, did this mod 2 weeks ago to my Disco and it's made the world of difference. Engine feels much more responsive and doesn't get boged down anymore.
Mark.

I didn't notice any difference TBH but the inlet stays a lot cleaner now.

Ok we'll go for it then! Thanks for the help info everyone.
