Title: Flooding Help
Post by: Evilgoat on July 25, 2007, 22:07:09
Following on to comments on the offer of help I posted I have read through it all and I've contacted Severn and Trent Water about pilling in and helping. I have no definate response as yet but who is willing to help if they say yes and what sort of capabilities do you have. In this case I would suspect its going to be more about distribution than much else but we'll see whats said.

Hopefully I'll have an answer tomorrow.

Depending on on where the area we are needed is I could help by taking me disco and a small trailer if needed to an area like Redditch, Warwick sort of area. Is that in Severn trent area? I know that area was flooded.

I have alot on at the mo but will try and make time to help.

Evilgoat.

I never even had a response from seven trent water so decided to go down that way saturday.
I went to a place called Westbury on 7 and just outside Tewkesbury.
I took nearlly 500litres of water in the rear of the GV and found an elderly peoples home to drop it off then met up with some landy guys.
We went for a drive around and assisted when needed really.
People just holla ya like a cab...lol
The main help needed is giving out water , morrisons in glouster was doing it for 2 hour stints saturday...there bound to be still doing it.

We've not had a reply from either and sadly the response from the other voluntary ambulance service was less then hospitable :(

Guess we just chip in where we can. Well done to them that have already helped.

If you haven't already done so, contact Bob at Wessex 4x4 Response (http://www.wessex4x4response.org.uk/Wessex.htm) ('Woodsman' on many forums).
They are still looking for volunteers to do exactly what you have been doing! Some of our Rover Rescue guys are even on stand by to help out this weekend and we're 5 hours away!!!
