Try prising the land rover badge off the rear door handle (above the number plate) & spray copious amounts of WD40 onto the parts of the door latch mechanism you can see.
Can't say it'll defo work, but its an easy fix & cost nothing to try. Landy badge pushes back on so easy!!

Hope that helps
Alistair

HI KEITH HOPE YOUR WELL,
I DID SAME AS ABOVE, FILL THE MECHANISM WITH WD40 INCLUDING THE OUTSIDE HANDLE AS THAT SEIZES TOO.
LASTS FOR AGES THEN, WELL DID FOR ME ANYHOW.

I had a simular problem when i had a 200 disco, it turned out to be the pin that locates into the lock was slightly loose. I tightened it up. HEY PRESTO.

hey spence  8)  yes thanks im well hope you are too

ive tried the above method b4 when the boot wouldnt open but that time it was cos the handle had seized up on the outside this time everything is differant the lock just doesnt seem to lift when i pop the central locking with the fob it lifts the bit inside the car just so i have to reach over and pull it up and its very loose and wobbly so i think its the spring change idea for me :(
