I've been trying to find a good 12v feed for my 300W inverter and some other bits. At the moment they're hanging off the back of the cigarette lighter. I'd like to put in my own distribution box.
According to the wiring diagrams there's a 30 amp fused feed to the sunroof motors, which I don't have fitted. It's the brown/red wire off the back of the multiplug in the centre of the fusebox (coming off fuse F12) - connector C0583 pin 7 at the fuse box end. However, it's a PITA to get to and I'm not sure I can access it without dismantling large swathes of the dash - unless anybody can suggest somewhere I can easily intercept it?
It seems the other end of this loom is in the headlining behind the sunroof panel (connector C0785-3), in which case it may be useful when I add a CB.
Any other suggestions of a ~30A feed I can tap into easily without messing anything else up?

There's a nice fat feed to the electric seats - however - it only runs with ignition ON or the drivers door open :oops:

Are you thinking of the satellite fuses beneath the seats themselves? I was assuming this was a switched feed for the heated seats... or? I'll consult the wiring diagrams again when I get a mo...

Or u could run ur own wiring to it and buy a fuse holder/switch etc and make it ur self easy job and cheap to

It's a possibility, but initial poking around suggests that getting wiring through the bulkhead might involve a major strip-down job. Unless anybody knows an easy-to-get to gromit?

Make ur own hole and then primer it and get ur self a gromet worked for me no leak or ne thing.
This is also how all the lovely boyracers :twisted: fit there power to there amps for there sounds systems...

Just had a hunt for the satellite fuses and they're not there... checking the wiring diagram (page 38) it looks like it's not fitted on the manual seat models, despite other bits of the manuals suggesting otherwise.
Given my RHS heated seat doesn't work, and both seats are on the same fuse (F15), it looks like the elements are probably shot on the RH seat. In which case I could hijack the feed to it and use that... then the heated seat switch would turn the inverter on and off. Sounds good!

It is a nice fat feed too .... so yes, you could do that. Datalas put a fuse box in under my cubby box - and we then ran the invertor and 4 port ciggy adapter off it (and a few other things)

mine fits through an existing gromet nicely fankies :D

I realise that I'm a little late with my 'barrow (looking at the dates), but there is an easy peasy way into the passenger compartment through the bulkhead on the battery side, through a huge blank grommet. Let me know if you need any help with its location.
