Title: Leaky 200tdi injector....
Post by: Disco-Ron on August 05, 2007, 00:29:44
As above.... are they easy to remove and reseal?? it's not the fuel feed pipe, or the return, but appears to be coming seemingly from the body of the injector...???

All ideas appreciated.... i've not had a really good look at it yet!

could be the sealing washer maybe... take it out, put a new one in and refit the injector

The injectors are a doddle to remove just undo the pipe from the top then remove the nut from the securing plate, it does sound like it will be the sealing washer on the bottom.

If it's the washer at the bottom of the injector, you should be able to feel it blowing up past the injector.
Washer about 2p time ten minutes.
However, if there is diesel escapeing, it's more probable to be a fault with the injector its self.
Change the washer, if that doesn't cure it, get the injector tested.

Either use a puller or slide hammer.
Failing either, wind the retaining nut about half way off, and flick starter over.
That should do it. Still only a ten minute job.

like ours. #4 will not budge, so we've just [!Expletive Deleted!] it off and left the damn thing in there. tried while its hot with a slide hammer and allsorts... not tried the starter motor trick tho? is it much use?
