Title: A Christmas Carol
Post by: Bush Tucker Man on December 24, 2004, 21:53:31
I've just been watching this on Channel 4
Superb casting. Patrick Stewart as Ebeneezer, Richard E Grant as Bob Cratchett.
Wonderful sets
Great directing.

What a schmaltzy, cloying, last 10-15minutes.

Almost as bad as 'The Grinch' in that respect

Um... isn't that sort of the whole point of the story ?

Yes, but they spoilt a good story after that point :)

Arh the Crinch, thought he'd be more your style

Best Christmas film I've seen is Tim Burtons, Nightmare before Christmas, excellent  :D

<looks up Mr Dickens' complaints address>

In all seriousness, it is a superb version of the story... Patrick Stewart is ace.

Probably the second best version ever made......  after the Muppets of course :-)

That's the only reason I watched it.
Patrick Stewart is one of our best actors on stage, silver-screen or TV
