Title: Disco Suspension
Post by: JimsMowing on August 09, 2007, 22:26:38
Guys my brakes are continuing to wobble under load and im beggining to think its now to do with my knackered suspension. I can feel under my feet in the cabin bumps and stuff, and i know the shocks are shagged cos its more like a lincoln continental at the mo...i.e it takes ages to settle.

So.....Replacing it to a standard spec, whats the cheapest i could sort the suspension for, bushes included all round. I would fit the stuff myself so no need to factor labour costs in.

And where is the best place to buy this from?

Many thanks

P.S Model is 1996 3.9 V8i.

Cheers

Standard shocks are around £10 a corner but a lot of us prefer something a bit stiffer, try Monroe at around £25 a corner (though the back ones have a reputation for the eyelet opening up) or Decarbon, or ProComp both at around £33 each.

If you don't want a lift you can leave the springs alone, unless it leans or sags.

Bushes, TBH unless you think they are failing it's not worth the trouble of swapping them for standard and polybushes are a matter of taste, I like them and they have stiffened the ride but on my air sprung LSE they made the steering kickback worse, they can be too much.

Definitely worth doing is the panhard rod, the others I'd do as needed, in pairs obviously.
