Looking for some level headed advice please!
Not sure whether to stick to a 2" lift or go up to 3" on my 90. Am I likely to run into propshaft issues with the 3" lift? I've heard stories about UJ vibration with bigger lifts.
I've been running 2" OME suspension on my 110 for several years and had no problems. But I am wondering whether to go a little more extreme on the 90.
Has anyone used Frogs Island TerraFirma springs? Or a kit from MM4x4?
Your opinions and advice will be most welcome.

I have just purchased a 90 Truck Cab with a +3" OME lift, once I had returned home I went through all the receipts that were left with the car, there seems to be a fair few for UJ's it even came with some spare ones, so you can draw your own conclusion.
I will be changing the springs as they look tired, but at this moment I am not sure if to stick with +3 or drop to +2
I want to put some LLama +11 shocks on and I need to find out if I can run them with the QT front weekender kit, so if anyone knows drop a reply

My cheap option is to just buy 2" springs and use the dampers from the 110 which is not long for this world. I suspect I'll go that route just because it's the easiest.

i have +3" with +4" shocks .It ran ok on standard props but i put devon44 wide angle props on because the prop drops loads on full drop,i wouldnt run 2" again now i have used the 3"

Whose springs and dampers are you using?

I had a two inch on mine, blue spring and pro comp shocks. When I sold the disco I took the 1" spacers out and added them to the 90.
I haven't noticed any difference in the drive yet. But I have been told by a few people now, that I will go through u/js.

No Steve it finished a little shy of the reserve, looks like im going to strip her down, a shame really as I have spent loads on her and more hours than the mrs cares to let me do again.

Why not use the Llama 11 travel dampers with the gwyn lweis challenge kit (also supplied by Llama4x4) which work well together and is relativerly inexpensive being effectively just taller front mounts and angle forwards rear mounts.
IIRC the weekender kit locates the front dampers outside the springs with eyes on both ends of the dampers where as the Llama 11" dampers are narrow with pin type ends.

why do you need a lift in the first place? surley your tyres are not so big they rub on a 2" lift? you can fit 35" tyres to a 90/110 without a lift amd a few body mods (and no not a body lift)

I have spoken to Gwyn and his stuff seems good, same as Bullfrog uses I think, the only bit that looks weak is the front shock tower, it may be just the photo.
The reason for looking at the weekender for the front was to bring the shock out of the spring as i was then looking at putting the X-Eng internal spring on to give more downwards presure.
I am just playing with ideas at the moment.

3 inch MM4x4 on mine with standard props and arms and just rotated the chrome balls to correct the steering geometry out. On road it feels like its on rails. steering can be light at high speeds. offroad i get great articulation as the springs are quite soft, would recomend disloction cones with it though for the rear. Do get slight vibration from the props and a bit of a clunk now and again on drops etc from the prop being fully extended but other than that its fine. I would never dream of dropping it down, even if i do have trouble parking in hight restricted car parks :D

Err no... (maby on the rear depending on required length)
Trying to find an image of the weekender kit to be sure but the I'm pritty certain they need dampers with eye type mounts on both ends (on the front) where as the 11" rough countries which are only avalible with threaded pin type mounts on bothe ends.

Fair comment. I hadn't realised that 35's would go on so easily. I was thinking about 33x12.5 in the future.

One thing I would chip in with is castor. A 2" lift reduces castor by 3degrees, with build tolerance of about 2 to 3 degrees this means effectively it become zero.
With a 3" lift you will make the castor negative.
Then you get into the whoe world of castor correction, if you go that route I strongly suggest the TD5 prop rather than a wide-angle unit.

I have never corrected the 110's castor with a 2" lift and it's been fine. But I accept your comments about LR build quality :lol: I guess I have been lucky! And maybe the longer wheelbase hides the instability a little.

Mine runs a 2" lift with 265/75R16's fitted, if you want a try at Peterborough.
Had britpart springs, but used to compress to much and bottom out if you loaded up the back with camping gear.
Switched to OME, removed anti roll bar. Handles better and doesn't lose height when I fill it up with stuff.
Have found front prop will rub on anti roll bar at full flex!
Not castor corrected yet, but will be for peace of mind.

Pretty sure david at llama would get you them with eyes on the end if you asked him. It might take awhile though!
