I have no fuel guage. I'm betting on wiring gone but I need to do this as soon as I get the damn thing home as I dont like having a guage that reads wrong, let alone that doesnt read.
Any known causes other than bad wiring.

Could be the fuel sender, bad earth, short on the wiring, fuse or at worst the gauge :?
Does it read constantly full or empty?
I drove my for 4 years without a working fuel gauge...even 5 weeks through Iceland...just fill it up every 300 miles
If you have a friendly parts supplier ask them if you can have a gauge on sale or return & elimate that, it's the most expensive part

Empty
:(biglaugh):

Niels selling me the truck, he knows :)
The Audi's always reads empty - but that has more to do with the speed it consumes fuel at ;)
I'll get under it with a meter methinks.

The fuel sender wires are often visible on the rear near side of the tank, mine broke after many years of being covered in mud and thrashed up and down. Didn't help that they weren't very secure after I swapped the tank.
