Title: Hubs, are they the same?
Post by: BigSi on August 31, 2007, 19:27:05
Are the hubs the same on both a Land Rover 90 and Range Rover Classic? Will a set of wheels bought for a 90 fit either axles?

You know what it's like, new toy....many questions!!!!

the stud pattern is the same for 90,110,130 disco 1 and rrc
p38 rr and td5 disco's are a different pcd

electicbluebadger.....you alloys only fit because there compamotive and will fit all with the same pattern due to no center
otherwise alloys wont fit a pre 300tdi defender due to the hubcaps ( they can be made fit but look but ugly   )

now if you mean are the hubs themselves are different i.e where the bearings lie then they are

Thanks mate. No, it was purley for fitting a set of new wheels. Ie, if I bought a set for a 90/defender, then they would still fit on the Range Rover axle hubs (same stud positions etc).

90/110/defender and later series wheels will fit on RRC hubs. The problems arrise with vice versa fitment of standard RRC wheels on 90/110/defender hubs.

 Just watch the offset, cos some have too much for a Rangie.

I tried to fit Defender 200 TDi hubs to my RRC, I had to swap the stub axles too, driveshafts CVs etc only to find my alloys ouwldn't fit, even with the centre cap missing.

ive fitted rangie alloys to my 90 , the wheels centres had to be ground out , they were done before i got them.
you could try fitting different driving members to suit the wheels but they may not be compatable with the shafts.
