i went exploring a green lane in derbyshires bonsal moor on my own like a fool and i got half way down and the jimny stalled i thought it was just me but then it wouldnt start at all for 3 to 4 mins , i carried on any way
then a bit futher down it did it again i opened the bonnet and didnt see anything at all wrong
i got it started again and thought id better get onto the road as the rac man wount be able to find me other wise
i got to a road and drove home with no problems at all
the only thing i noticed was the cat was about falling off so i bought a new one and then fitted and started it
i twiddled around with some wires on 2 relays near the engine fuse box and it cut out , i found a wire that was green and had snapped and must have been arking causing the weird cutting out
i checked all the wires and they were all starting to go green
sprayed some elec cleaner on mended the broken spade and job done
you better check yours

As A matter of corse I spray my connectors with a silicon grease or water dispersant spray cos from experience Jap electrics dont like British weather. NB WD40 is not the best product for this job! WD contains water as part of its solvent mix and therefore will eventually re-absorb water making the problem worse. I use Wurth Ultra 2040 spray which is fully synthetic and water resistant.
