what does it mean if... the coolant on my 140,000 mile passat goes down by one cm every time i take it for a 15minute drive? im thinking head hasket...  :cry:  :cry: please dont say it is i will ball like a little baby  :cry:  :cry:

Perhaps the French are sneaking over at night and stealing your anti-freeze to put in their wine?

Rob - could be any number of things.

Head gasket is probobly last thing to check. Look for actual water loss, in particular look for crystals of dried coolant on the hoses and other places. Check youa rent loosing coolant as steam someplace.

Is the bottle pressurised when you take the cap off?
