hi
  i am going to change the engine oil in my 200TDI defender ,simple question is what grade of oil do i use and is it worth spending lots of money on top brand name oil (engine uses very little oil) or will the cheap stuff do  :?

10/40 as rob said, depending on history/mileage consider semi-synth, though dino should be fine for 3-4000 mile changes.

I use Castrol Magnatec Oil in my 200Tdi.
I also use Genuine Parts Oil & Fuel filter.

thanks for the advice guys, got some 10 W40 oil and britpart filters hope to have it sorted for the weekend as im off to peterborough...cheers Iain
