Title: Drive Flanges
Post by: Lewis Bernard on September 07, 2007, 11:41:34
Hi,

does anybody know the torque settings for the drive flanges from each end of the transfer box, and from both the front and rear diff? Disco 300tdi (1998). Changed all my UJ's, noticed oil leaking form the transfer box all over my handbrake (so thats why it didn't hold on hills!) and both diffs had little trickles coming out. Replaced the seals, but nothing in the haynes manual of confusion about the correct torque settings.

Cheers guys.

Well looking at the manual for an LT230Q transfer box

It says 162Nm or 120 foot/pounds

Don't know if that is what you have or not though, but it should give you a ball-park figure to work from
