Title: Found the cluth problem
Post by: Evilgoat on September 08, 2007, 17:44:24
Cable has collapsed where it bends back by sterring box. Yay, means the clutch isnt nuked. Annoyingly if I'd sene it at billight I could have bodged it.

Anyone have one kicking about they would care to sell?

Tell you what, not done the vlves or timing, its all setup by eye and it sounds so much better, wondering how long that gasket has been going.

The bodge in the cable resulted in me firing a jubiliee clip into orbit. Pressed the clutch and just heard PINGGGGgggggggg.........

If you have a cable that would be apreciated, let me know the damage.

Found a local one. In theory I can have Rabbit roadworthy again tomorrow and sold by the end of the week. Which is good as the money for Serenity should be comming through any minute.

Aww there there.

Will pick the other cable up tomorrow I hope. Already getting a ton of parts from the guy so makes sense.

And now she lives. Big thanks to Gen-X

Took me 15 mins to realise I was adjusting the clutch cable backwards though

All seriousness, has to be the easiest clutch cable change I have ever done.

Shes more or less back together now. Needs some jointing compound on the exhaust though. Did a few lanes with Ali driving her yesterday too.
