Post by: Guardian. on September 09, 2007, 00:36:06
picked my 110 v8 up friday dinnertime from garage, spent muchos dinero on her (in 4 figs) and friday afternoon the crank decided to leave the block, (without permision).
im over the moon!
misses is doing her nut at me as  she accuses me of wasting money :o
on the upside, have now a new 3.9 v8 on its way to replace the 3.5, told i will have about 50bhp more, is that right?

Depends on tune of the engines, lowest figure for a 3.5 I've seen was approx 114hp for a 3.5 carb in a 90/110 where as the 3.5 EFI high compression in a RRC was 165hp which is a 50 hp increase on its own.

the 3.5 was bog standard 110, but its getting a nice new 3.9 with lightened and balanced crank and flywheel, then skimmed heads but i think they are using new standard cams etc.
got to be better than not moving at all.!

You'll notice a big difference with a good as new 3.9 over a tired 3.5 8)
I would get them to rebuild it with a performance cam & gas flow the head...
Let us know how it goes :D
