I want to fit a snorkel to my 90. It does not have the vent in the wing because it was a 2.5N/A. It now has a 200tdi and I want to cut the wing and fit a standard 200 Snorkel.
Does anyone that has a proper 200tdi defender have any photos of how the pipe work goes from the inside of the wing to the air box.

is it a disco 200 ?
ive got my pipe coming in through the heater intake and then straight down to the turbo so i dont have a airbox to worry about if its watertight

Got the same issue, got hold of a Safari copy, to be honest I miss read the ad thought it said 200Tdi or 2.5 N/A but it was TD.
Going to take a look tonight to see if I can get it to pass through under the heater box etc, I'll update you tomorrow if I can get it sorted.
ps mines a 110 2.5 N/A with a Disco 200Tdi.

Don't bother with the wing type fittings, they will let you down one day, I hydrolocked my engine because of the wing fitting, my fault I know I should have checked it, you can do what dan suggested or get one of these.

I have a disco 200tdi but i have converted it to a defender one
its now got a defender turbo and front timing cover. the air box is still the disco one but i can weld a pipe onto that if i need to.
just not sure about how a standard one goes. the heater box seems in the way

its a plastic bend
ive got the bend here if you want it ??
you will need to get the proper outter wing skin tho so its in the exact spot it needs be, or else it wont fit
ill get a picture up of it tomorrow for you so you can see, unless i find one tonight
but offers there matey, pay for postage its yours, altho i say say take a pipe direct or turbo, or to the air box as there isnt any joins then

Thanks Dan,
I have sent you a PM. If i could have that bit of pipe it would get me one stage closer to sorting the problem.
I do also agree with you that less joins is better but i will be using lots of water tight gasket paste and good strong hoses.
I want to be able to use a standard air filter.

Matt,
you can still use the standard air filter you just do away with the wing attachment part.

yep thats what i was going to say, id rather you do that than use this join i have :? i dont like them one bit
your far better off using a pipe direct onto the airbox than using the wing intake IMO

so if I go the direct to air box way, I need to drill a hole in the top of the wing. I do see your point about the wing fitted version.
I just dont want it to look like a lash up job.
I think paddocks do a kit that goes in through the wing top, just looks like it will hit the heater box.
-
it goes down the side and back of it
mine doesnt look like a has job, but then again, i aint concerened, id rather my engine still be running when im stuck in a waterlogged bog for a hour than have it lock up on me

I have the southdown snorkel fitted to my 90 200tdi and it,s a cracking piece of kit all stainless fittings come with it and the pipe runs from bottom of snorkel straight to your original air filter I replaced a safari unit with this one mainly because the safari unit kept getting caught up on trees etc the southdown one fits in a little tighter and so far it,s not come close to getting caught. Highly recommended.
