little advice if possible please...
after me thinking i needed a new transfer box and not moveing the lanny for 6 months, got under it and saw the front prob uj was well broke!
fitted 2 new uj's and put back on, all ok and fine, drove for 2 week and a noise started climbed under and one of me new uj was getting very hot, started to limp home (4mile) then a vibration started, getting to 30 was very wobbly!
either way got home front prop off (heat marks on uj caps so deffo gettin too hot) diff lock on and off out, vibration still there really bad, no way i could go over 30,
so any general ideas on this? not wheel balance (to agressive for that).
am thinkin maybe transfer box? bearing letting go makein the flanges not spin true?
cheers Ric.

handbreak ?
you taken rear prop off ?
check gearbox and engine mounts to see if they aint split away from the metal
wheel bearing
and some others will come to me later on :P

handbreak binding? that what you mean?
hmmm dont think its bining, while drivein you can pull slightly and hear the point the pads touch the drum..
rear prop not been off as didnt want to run front prop till ive sorted the uj overheating.. checked transfer box mounts while i was under there looked a bit saggy but didnt seem split will have a closer look with a prybar over weekend...
and dont think wheel beaing as it came all of a sudden, instantly...

ok count handbreak out
you checked anything else ?

Where did you get the UJ's from, are you 100% sure they are right size ?
How did the UJ's feel when you put them in new (plenty of grease?), was it nice and smooth or tight.
dont know if you said you drove it with only rear prop on ?
if its a bearing in the transfer box, you should be able to feel play on the output flange

Are you running on a large suspension lift? You could be getting close to max prop angle...I trust you did grease the new UJ's :?:
Have you now checked the rear prop UJ's for play?

got uj's from paddock
"Propshaft UJ (HARDY SPICER)"
and yeah deffo correct size and filled them full of grease while building and then greased to death before putting prop on... but to be honest im not worried about the uj's really its the vibration..
rear uj's dont seem to have play, and think i said drove with front prop on - vibration, front prop off (diff lock on) and still same vibration,
but before takeing off front prop i gave it a good wiggle and there seemed to be very slight play up n down in transfer box. altho not 100% on this.

that play is usual, its less than mine infact
-
hmmm think i will grease up the front prop again more.... refit and remove rear prop see if vibration is still there. if so will carry on diagnostic work lol
-
what does the vibration feel like, where from ?
is it coming up through the steering wheel
does the rear end feel twitchy ?
what are the breaks like ? pedal abit lower than usual ?
any odd squeaks that its devaloped over its usual squeakes

Hmmm :-k
Could be your prop is out of balance, did you mark the yokes so it went back the same way it come apart?
Did you split the prop when you did UJ's
Are the yokes at either end 90degrees opposed?
:-k
