Post by: cardiff_gareth on September 17, 2007, 09:41:43
Just bought the Aldi Sunday Special fire extinguisher. Good bit of kit, costs 6 quid and even has a visual dial on so you know if your full or empty etc !!

Don't know where to put it though, where has everyone else put theirs :?:

Any pic's ?

Cheers

where you can reach it in the event of a fire.

i have one either side of the front seats. so all you have to do is bail out and there is one at your finger tips!

how have you secured them down as I thought about having it on the passengers side of the gearbox tunnel but had concerns about self tapping through and coming into contact with what ever is behind it  :?

When i had a 300, the extinguisher frame was attached to the front drivers seat frame, under the front edge of the seat with cable ties.

Mine is located on the right hand side of the drivers seat. just self tapped to the frame.

Very handy to get to as you leap out of the truck.

Mine being an ES had no room there ... so it is attached to the front of the removeable panel on the passenger seat :)

Still easy to grab ... not that I remembered about it when the gearbox went up in smoke ... hey ho

With mine being a 3 door i screwed up to the rear window so its just a reach behind if required.

on the old rangie i mounted on the dash where the grap handle at the passenger side and when it set on fire it was easy to get to.

On my 200tdi I screwed it to the side of the plastic supporting the driver's seat, so you could grab it on the way out the door.  That doesn't work on later models though because of the door pockets.

On the TD5 I put mine on top of the subwoofer inside the rear door.

Mine was in a similar position, but in the passenger footwell.

I didn't fancy the thought of it possibly getting loose & rolling under the pedals, as there was no securing clip on the holder

Now I've bought a 2KG from Netto & need to fit it somewhere handy in the 110

Mine took ages to mount properly.  It's held in place with a really nifty piece of kit, a "gravity clip"...
