Title: turbo failure? also gear selector probs

hi people just been to see an 1997 reg disco and a few things bother me the first and main one was oil from around the flexi turbo pipe onto the inlet manifold, this points to me as been the turbo gone or going? any other ideas?
also although not really a huge problem but a niggling one the gear selector wouldnt spring to centre it just satyed where it was is this a big geasrbox out job or a smaller job thanks for replies

i know for a fact the gear problem is the springs as i had to change mine and the 2 spring and plate wa about 7-8 pound from land rover as for turbo pass????
