Looks like my battery isn't going to hold out this winter and i'm going to be fitting a winch sooner or later, anybody running Optima batteries or just using a big lead acid battery, don't really want to get into split charging as winch use will be limited, reccomdation on a good allrounder battery appreciated.
Cheers.

He is the UK Distributer for Odyssey batteries AFAIK which I've heard are very good.

i run twin optima yellow tops, but IMO they aint for you
just fit a big truck battery
or if you want twin batterys
get two conventional car batterys type 096
they will fit in the tray perfect
just link them in parrallel
no need for split charge ect ect

just link them in parrallel
Never thought of that.

I have been running red & yellow top Optimas in my 110 for the past 4 years & they have been excellent.
However as Dan says...they ain't for you.
I would fit a good quality tractor battery, they do go under the seat.
I'd also recommend upgrading the alternator to circa 100amps.

id leave the alternator std :? wont start chewing belts then
im running twin optima's and a std 65amp alternator
no problems winching, even with both going together whilst running the cooling fan
worst case i have is popping the alt belt off
id run twin type 096 car batterys in parrallel, i no some challenge people that use this set up aswel,
there cheap, good solid setup for under 100 squid, unlike 120 quid each for a optima or odyssey ect ect
just honest opinion
you dont need to spend silly amounts of money on batterys as you simply wont be demanding that much from them

For extra oopmh you could put two combine harvester batteries together in parallell - they usually have as much power as a tractor battery but are smaller in size.
