Hi All,
Looking for any info on the EDC system.
My eventual goal is to modify a Megasquirt ECU to be able to control the FI pump on the 300tdi.
From what I've looked at so far it is possible. The VP37 pump seems to be controlled by 2 PWM signals, one operating as the governor using a signal from the pump to form a closed loop control and one to adjust the timing using the signal from the injector sensor to form the closed loop.
I'm at the stage now where I need to see what those signals look like under various conditions, but haven't got the equipment myself to do stored data logging.
So before I go out and devise some sort of logger is there anyone else interested enough to have started looking at this already?
Cheers
Guy

Doesn't the EDC use the ABS system like the traction control does?

I think you're thinking of the HDC 'Hill Descent Control'
The EDC 'Electronic Diesel Control' as fitted to the 300tdi Discos (and various VWs & others) is a Bosch ECU & electronically controlled injection pump commonly called fly-by-wire as there is no direct connection between the throttle pedal and the engine.
