I use firefox all the time...make sure you have the latest version.
I have never had a problem with the picture quality :?
So much more user friendly than IE :D
-
I don't use explorer any more, Just fire fox. I find it a lot better all round.
-
its very quick, infact vitually instant, but the text and stuff isnt smooth like ie, its very harsh dont know how to explain really, but you recommend then.
-
i use fire fox all the time but on certain websites such as myspace it cant supoort uploads, apart from that its absolutly ace

Firefox is far better than internet explorer...
I had the same issue as you, but that was down to me messing about with a plugin called image zoom. If you click Tool - Add Ons, you can see what is installed. If its there, disable it and restart firefox. See if that fixes it?
With regards to some sites not working in firefox - It has no activeX support, so any app that uses this will not work.
There is however a add on called IEtab, which i use a lot. It enables firefox to render the page using internet explorer, but within the firefox frame / application. You can set a load of urls in the config for it so that they will automatically be rendered.
Its really good and can be downloaded here

Ive biffed Outlook for the Mozilla equivalent - Thunderbird :)

the book was much better then the film

How To Speed Up Firefox (Helpful Vanity)
Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 100. This means it will make 100 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

Is there anything as equally handy for AOL...as mine seems to be operating at steam driven capacity of late
-
Firefox.
The AOL browser causes more problems than any other browser.
Download Firefox and run that instead.

You might find 100 is too high. 8 should be the max.

Yes I do, just send a £50 note to me and I'll tell you. If you don't have a £50 note to hand send me all of your bank details and I will give you a job addressing letters to people who want to buy cleaning products and distributing catalogues.
This is not another internet scam, this is a genuine con.

whats up with IE7 ?

whats up with IE7 ?
Well First it being most used people tend to write malware (scipts, Hackes, Virus, tojans, ETC) for it.
it tied into windows and allows easy access to other windows software
It's microsoft and they only do updates once a month not as and when it's needed
all other browsers are vulnerable to malware and need to be keeped up to date
Another Options for internet Browsers
http://www.opera.com/ supposed to be very safe but unsupported more often than firefox
