Title: Seat ideas?
Post by: carbore on September 28, 2007, 22:36:32
My gaffer tape hasnt got enough seat to hold it together any more so Id like to get some new ones at some point.

Thoughts so far

Original  "Delux Style" look period, wipe clean, but no head restraint and that bothers me for off road RTV stuff and accident type issues as im paranoid (after all I race cars and my else has motor sport seats/harness etc and I wear a helmet!)
Exmore Trackers, ok price at about £80 but look a bit modern maybe.....?
Other car seats from a scrappy, may get something ok looking but with a head restraint.

Anyone else got any other ideas/suppliers or something like a head restraint from the roof (as its a truck cab).

i put some seats in from a mazda all i done was cut the base off and welded plate across the bottom then bolted through the seat box very comfortable but maybe a little high but then any thing is better than sitting on the standard ones

Cavalier SRI Recaros are nice and supportive and very easy to bolt in....

Used em in Rangey and series motors, they were spot on in my Lightweight when I still had it

or for the ultimate in comfort how about a Rangey rear seat....

The later ones were quite high backed and a 60/40 split means you can still access the under seat tool box if you dont have a twin tank version, Ive attached headrests to my dog guard cos i have the earlier none headrested seat....

Cheers Steve

Vauxhall carlton Full leather fronts in my old 110. cost me £20 for the pair from a scrappy. Meastro van seats are quiet comfy  if You can find any in a scrappy.

I got some bucket seats from makro 69quid brand new, bit of modding for the disco but should fit straight into the seat box.

Very comfy as well!!
