Just got fed up , mate has just fitted Wrangler mts to his Frontera, i told him they were wasted on on it and he should donate them. As i havnt got £108 a tyre to spend im looking for ideas, big chunky and road legal, also must, be reliable. so all coments gratefully recieved. Oh yes this isnt an excuse to start the old remould or not debate, im open to all ideas though.

100% happy with my Colway ATs so far :D They do MTs as well. Nice and cheap, tread copy of BFGs and it's less of an issue if they get damaged (cheaper to replace)

He paid too much, especially for a 15" tyre which are normally a ot cheaper. My local garage quoted me about £83 ish for 235/70/16!
Personally I'd go for something like a Cooper tyre (look at their website, their ST is quite a nice tyre) or Khumo/General etc.
You have to shop around though, and try Paddocks who are usually quite good (but don't do fitting, a place down the road does theirs quite cheap).

For a good cheap MT I like Kumho's. We've had a set of 35" on our pickup for 3 years now - great offroad, surprisingly quiet on road, and still got lots of tread left. Bought some 31" for the 4runner last year and they are equally good. Cost about £45 each from Micheldever Tyres Nr Andover.
:D

Kumho are also Marshal tyres.
Apparantly the Kuhmo is in short supply at the moment. I was going to buy a set of Kumho and ended up with BFG MT.
235 85 16.
Just arrived this morning.

Thanks for that.

Ok, some of you may have noticed how much I love remoulds but having just bought a set of wheels and tyres for the road I can now get a set of MT JUST FOR PLAYING. I would be interested in recomendations for sensibly priced MT remoulds with the bias very much off-road and a budget of around 50/corner, fitted/balanced etc.

Tull,
I stuck Amazons on the Trooper, (Or the Post Van as Daz would call it.)
Found them very good in the short time I had it. :D
They cost me £40 each.

They look good, are they directional?
-
Yes they are,
I stuck Marshal Venture 235/85 MT's on the Bobtail Rangie (None directional).

Ive got 235 85 16 Colway remoulds on my 110, and i can fault them. Get me through the same thick stuff as the BFG's. I thing they were £37 each from www.tyresdirect.uk.com
