Title: Wind Noise - Air Vents
Post by: Marrow on October 06, 2007, 11:25:40
My Landie is experiencing a lot of air nosie and there is a constant stream of cold air coming through the dashboard vents.

As winter is on the way I have bought two new seals for the front air vent flaps, but I want to know the easiest way to fit them.
I have unscrewed he bolds holding the flaps and was expecting them to come off but the arm that controls the movement is attached and is very difficult to get to.

Is the best way to try and release the flaps from the arm or is tere a better way of fitting the new seals.

Cheers

Might not be the seals - mine takes a fair amount of force to actually get them fully closed and onto the last notch.  Just a thought, and a lot easier than replacing the seals!

i us a small 1/4 inch ratchet and a deep 8mm socket to undo the arm off the flaps
i find it easier to take the flap of to fit seals rather than working under them
