have noticed that half the flange where the bolt passes through is missing on the door pillar bottom bracket. The section required is only a tenner at paddocks so is it easy to fit this section. I have to clean it up first so there is always the possibility that i might get away with replacing or making a section of flange to weld in where the old one has broke rather than disturbing any pillar section as i am hoping to get the old girl mot soon.

thats a bulkhead foot missing by the looks of it. Means stripping the stuff off there and welding it on i'm afraid.

oh dear, it seems that every time i get the old girl nearly ready for the mot i find something else that needs doing, found another patch for welding behind the pedals earlier which i am sure i had checked, it;s gonna take a wee bit longer than anticipated...

Its not that big a job, I did both on the lightweight get a new bolt and nut to replace the one you finally have to knock out, fit the new panel with the bolt to the bulkhead loosley, then offer up the new piece to the chassis for final location, its then a case of prepping the chassis to take the new bit, hoping you dont find it too thin to weld without having to replate it as well
Have fun
btw before anyone says it, yes the lightweight is not the same size for the replacement part, I had to do a bit of trimming on the replacement part before welding it in, about half an inch off it, but better than trying to source a special panel for the l/w
