Very, very windy here, mxed with rain and on occasssions a brief hail shower
Just seen Carlisle on the news and the flooding there
Also A1, M1 and M62 in this area have been troubled today with the high winds, if you need to go out take care.
-
Heard on the news that a lot of trees have come down,
One of them near me blocked the A5 off for several hours.
-
And you weren't out there with the Bobtail to tow it off ?
-
No I was applying my new stickers. :D
-
Thats right Paul, get yr priorities in order
-
we've suffered weather damage
has cost us 120 quid in wood panelling and bits of wood.
too windy to put the new panels in though

Hi All
Just seen on the news that 25 artic's have been blown over on one strech of road I think I'll be staying in by the fire this weekend .
-
It was an entertaining trip up the M6 this morning

We've had a couple of truck drivers in who were unexpectedly inverted through 45degrees.
No serious injuries.
-
On the way into work this morning (by foot, due to not having sorted the Disco yet), I spent much of it having real difficulty standing up (and I'd not had that much to drink, either), and managed to get soaked as well. I'd not actually noticed the fact that it was raining. The wind was blowing the rain so hard, you couldn't really identify it as rain.
And I got hit by a sign as I arrived at work as well.
-
A bit of bad weather and lorry drivers start doing jobs on the side :)
Ok I'll get mi coat!
Seriously it was awful looking at Carlisle on the news. Most of it under water. What was i saying about being thankful for living here?

Just been windy here with a bit of rain. As I spent most of the day under the landy fixing the handbrake I only noticed the rain when my feet got wet.
As to carlisle, my inlaws live there and we havnt been able to get through on the phone to see how they are (phone is perminantly engaged guessing the phone lines are down).
-
Dodge the flying debris up here.
-
I do hope the in-laws are OK Bob
-
My great aunt lives there. We got though to her but phone lines are very iffy. Whole of city centre is flooded by the station and down Warwick street towards the castle. Still no power
She's 92 and remebers this happening in the 20s. Friends have taken her in outside of Carlisle. House not flooded but she is dependant on others and the city is at a standstill. No power at the Infimary.
On my way to Craddocks this morning a guy on the radio said 20 HGVs had gone over on the A1

They live at Lowery Hill on the outskirts so it is probably just the phone lines.
-
Been bloomin' windy here!! Half the conservatory roof's gone, and I had to weigh my tub down with clutch plates to stop it blowing over!!
-
twas a touch windy here as wekll, but no real damage by the looky of things
-
couple of walls blown over in backlane nearby, saw kids slide and swing been flung over 6ft fence yesterday few trees over by the shipyards and sounds like its coming again.
nowt compared to carlisle though
-
just some fence panels here.
hope it quietens down though; I have to go to Leicester tomorrow then Leeds Friday.
-
we've lost a few trees but nothing too bad. It seems to be calming down now although its a lot colder today
:D
-
All we've had is the roof-slates going up & down,
It's like someones' using them as a Xzyolphone
Oh, & at the weekend the daughters Wendy House relocated itself down the garden steps & across the lawn
-
Half my greenhouse has gone over the weekend and the only fence panel in the back garden is no more!
-
HWMBO put a large cardboard box in the yard at the back, along with the other flat packed card for recycling...
He didn't realise that it was full of shreded paper so we have that all over the yard now, looks kinda preety all over the bushes, and what we cant pick up will mulch down I guess

The power is out everywhere around me, ive got trees down, corrigated iron blown all over the hillside, no mobile signal, no tv signal.
Mother Nature you can take away all of that, but you'll never take my Internet.
-
Just got power back on after 5 days. :D Carlisle WAS unbelievable. It'll take months to sort out. 3,000 homeless and the damage to property is tremendous. Round here just outside Silloth, no flood damage but the winds have wreaked havoc. Should have plenty of fire wood to last a year or two. :) Was stormy last night but has gone quite tonight but cold. Roll on summer when the rain get's warmer.
