Title: What do I need to do to make these tyres fit my 200 tdi
Post by: Jimbrown on October 10, 2007, 15:08:17
I want to increase my tyre size to 31x10.5x16 or in metric flavour 265/70/r16 I already have a 2" lift and extended bump stops I know that I will need to do some cutting of the rear arch and possibly correct the steering stops I just need to know how much to cut and would appreciate any pics from anyone who has gone down this road already.

do a search for camel cut and there should be a few on here already. Extended bump stops along with a 2 inch lift and you should be fine for 31's. Make sure you address the offset.

I did a search for camel cut there wasnt a single disco :) but thanks it brought up some eye opening results, just a good job it wasnt a kid doing the search.

I think Bulli meant for you to search the Mud Club archives, not Google!!

Have a look at THIS (http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=48655&highlight=camel+cut) thread.

Ive recently put some of these on my 300 but have not done a camel cut yet. I have not caught them either but i dont think ive had full artic yet.

Steering stops had to be adjusted, but just on one side bizzarley, looking at other discos with standard tires ive seen some with their stops out further than mine!

Heres some pics to help you visualise:
