There's a restaurant in Cambridge (Hobbes' Pavilion) which does a dessert consisting of a pancake with 4 cream eggs in. :-&

Had a Wispa yesterday, as when I went into the garage to get some diesel they had a display unit up by the till. Admittedly had another this morning :P
They also stock Caramacs. Was never very keen on those mind.

I'm so glad someone else remenbers those sweets - I always mention them when i get on this conversation and no one ever remembers them - they were great, the same size as opal fruits(starbursts)!
Can you still get Banjo's???
-
When I was about 6years old we used to get "M&B Bars" in the tuck shop. Unwrapped poor mans frys cream! They were huge... or was I small..?!
Anyone else North of the Border remember them?
Skibum

blue smarties

We had a box of Wispa's turn up in our forecourt shop the other day.
They were gone by the end of the day
I forgot how nice they were
I hope the caramel ones come back too <yum>
Aztec, wasn't that Cadburys answer to the Mars bar?
They were supreme on every level.

i will be looking out for a wispa next time im in the shop :P

-
Do they still do Dime Bar's?
Not sure, but i'm sure armabillos still exist.
What about Aniseed Balls? =P~ =P~ =P~ =P~
Get your self down a propper sweet shop. There is a nice small sweet chop in worcester that does them as well as other sweets from the dim and distant past. Best bit is that is on the way from the highstreet to the multi story car park so you have to make excuses to not visit it.
-
Dime bars are still about, as are Highland Toffee bars---FAB 8)

Wispa bars? Pah. Overgrown Aero bars! Chocolate makes my brain ache. Can't stand the stuff :-&

No You've grown! Yep I've had a wispa!
Should bring back spangles and all sweet shops should stil have the big jars of sweets and proper pic n mix.
-
We have Wispa bars where i work. and Starbars and Caramac's. And it is hell on earth having the display opposite the till as i spend the day just staring at the chocolate.
-
Do they still do Dime Bar's?
IIRC they're now called DAIM bars though, however that might just be because I live in a foreign county [1]
[1] yes, that is right :)
-
Aztec, wasn't that Cadburys answer to the Mars bar?
They were supreme on every level.

Yup, and sadly missed...And Tiffin, though they still make it for the NAAFI IIRC
-

Quite possibly, visited Cadbury's last year and compared the numbers on the wrappers, some items have got smaller, others get smaller as the price is held, then on price rise they get bigger so they can reduce them to hold the price again.
-
monster munch used to be differnt shapes plus u could buy single packets of roast beef
-

I think there used to be hammers and saws and spanners. :):)
I saw some of those a few weeks back, but they don't taste the same as they used to, and are definitely smaller.
bit like the white chocolate fish and chips, they ae nice as well.
-
i have fond memories of bazooka joe chewing gum, you used to be able to save and send off the wrapers for free gifts :D :D :D
-

One penny old money ? (showing my age eh ? )
The inside wrapper was like a catologue of wonderful stuff you could save points for ... I never actually knew or heard anyone who managed to save enough wappers for even the naffest of the goods on offer.... I wonder if anyone did get anything from Bazooka Joe ?
Tasted good but too tough to blow a really good bubble !
Anyone remember "5 Boys" chocolate bars ? Made by Fry's I think.
They had pictures of 5 boys with different facial expressions, happy through to sad ... 3d a bar when I was a kid...
-
We used to buy 1p sweets called MOJO ...haven't seen them for years :D
Starbars are my favourite & the local spar just happens to sell them :D
I want them to bring the Wispa Goldout again mmm 8)
-
wispas appeared in our local shop the other day so i bought a couple as i used love them, they still taste as good as i remember :D woman in the shop said they had 5 boxes in as a trial and they were on the last one-they were only delivered the previous afternoon  so if i see them now i,m gonna buy the whole box and stash them away
-
I always found Wispas a bit sickly actually. Plus I objected to paying for a lump of air. I think the reason they taste very chocolatey is that you get a lot of surface area of chocolate exposed to your taste buds. Flakes work on the same basis.
-
MoJo's are still about, my kids love them
Do all the Starbar lovers remember them in the original red packaging?
IIRC they were brought out at the same time as the original Star Wars films (Cadburys cashing in, and why not)
They brought them back about 8 years ago in the new yellow packaging and they've been around since then (yummy) 8)
On the note of Star Wars, does anyone remember the Star Wars ice lolly's?
I used to live on them when i was 10 <smile>
:D

Not had a 'new' Wispa yet, but I can remember the 'old' ones :D :D

Might be really showing my age now  but does anyone remember bars of chocolate called Old Jamaica Rum, also you could get little gold nuggets of bubble gum in sacks, bit like pirates treasure.
On a different note does ANYONE remember Lyril soap?????
-
Here's another question for you are curly wurly's and monster munch smaller now than they were 15+ years ago???

Bizzarely IKEA is good for sweets!
You can get massive bags of dime bars and the strwaberry laces taste like strawberry laces should (different to the ones you get nowadays from supermarkets, but how i remeber them from being a kid :D )
They also do some weired things. The girlfriend bought some called "Salty Fish".... and yes they taste as bad as they sound...
They are going to be given to the kids knocking the door on Haloween
