Title: Hot Handbrake - electrical problem
Post by: Miodio on October 22, 2007, 19:45:56
Hi guys, can anyone help?
I've identified my hot handbrake lever to the following:
Whenever I turn on any electrical device, eg:starter motor, lights, windy wipers, etc, they earth down the handbrake cable (probably to the drum components), thereby heating up the cable, sometimes it gets so hot, It can turn water to steam!

My question is: Where is the relevant earth strap that I need to repair? Is it from body to chassis?

Thanks in advance, you lovely people. (300Tdi 1995 LHD Discovery)

I have 3 anyway on the blue one, one near the alternator, one near the starter (which IIRC is original) and one near the original battery.
