does anyone know any insurance company thats not going to charge me HUGE amounts of money to insure me???? sorry if this question has already been asked previously but i cant find many postings about it. recently had a 2" lift fitted along with BFGMTs on steels, anyone would think i was trying to insure a monster truck!!!! had one quote but it was nearly £2500!!!!!  apparently i need to use a insurance company that specialises in modifications. insurance was £300 i have got 4yrs NCB, i expected it 2 go up a bit but not that much. the mind boggles what it might go up to if/when i get the other mods i want i.e. snorkel, chequer plating, steel bumpers etc

Heyup lass, give NFU a ring, do a google for em, they are dirt cheap and they wont take a deposit over the fone, will just start it and take 11 monthly payments.

Or try sureterm, i have 2 Disco's insured with them,
1 for raod use £420 (ish) fully comp :)
1 for play £250 ish tpft with limited milage off road parking at night &all the mod's declared :)
Last insurance company was Liverpool Victoria & they refused to insure the ''off roader'' & wanted £900 for the road car  ,
My daughter was with Elephant & they wanted £1,400 for her disco sure term insured her tpft for less than £500 :)
we may live in a bad post code but hey it's quite Bierute yet

NFU for me too!
-
try confused.com i got some very good quotes which varied from £209 - £465 for a 1991 turbo diesel rangie with a few minor mods
-
I use Snowball
They give 10% off for being a mud-club member and let you have mods on your car at no extra cost and your covered for offroad and greenlane use I pay £230 fully comp for two drivers with all the mods listed below and pay in instalments all I had to do was print out my profile page showing my member number and they gave me the discount 8)

Personal point of annoyance.
A Greenlane is a Road, end of. You do NOT need seperate cover for this and they cannot legally exclude greenlanes.
*puts away soapbox*

NFU for me aswell  very helpfully and easy to deal with aswell as being cheap
-
NFU & Adrian Flux :D
-
flux are good for modded stuff but i saved money going to firebond...in the back of all the mags!
-
Flux for our 110 V8 ~ £96 fully comp, with winch and snorkel.
-
For modified trucks I have used Adrian Flux and Roadsure.
For the import Nissan I use Footman James, (and they will cover me for the body/suspension lift and big tyres when I get round to it!)
For the X-90 the wife uses Saga, ha ha ha ha haaaaaaa.

with the mods declared on confused.com they might not be able to quote you straight away.
we been recently tryin to get the zookie back on the road, so ive also been ringing round people, tried adrian flux but didnt know about the club discount they didnt even think to ask! (how rude!)
BarmieBrummie: do you have an address/contact number for sureteam.. as it also seems our postcode isnt in a good area so that may vouch well for the zook.
