Title: Exhaust Help
Post by: defuzz on October 25, 2007, 15:24:07
Hello, I need a new rear box and want to check I order the right bit.

1990 registered 200TDi 3 Door Discovery

The bit I just ordered from local car place ( I can easily cancel if its wrong) is LR111J

Can someone confirm is this right? or point me to where I can correctly identify what I need (old exhaust is long gone I'm afraid so no getting numbers from it!)

Also, before I fit, is it worth painting or rust proofing the exhaust to extend its life?  If so what with?

Up to GA460229 needs pt no NRC7119

From GA460230 to KA the LR pt no is ESR238 but is for both silencers.

BOSAL catalogue quotes the no 286-823 for the rear box on the later model no.

Is the local car place getting you a genuine one or some other brand/unbranded, it may easily be a non genuine exhaust part and have a different part number.

LR111 is a Timax part no. and corresponds to NTC7119 all models to 93.

It is for the rear silencer and includes the length of pipe to the centre box
