I did the school-run this morning.
Right next door to the school is the West Yorkshire Police Training College, as we walked up the street to the gates, I saw this (http://community.webshots.com/photo/139093170/249740868CqnADR)
It looks like one of the CAV (Composite Armoured Vehicle) bodies, with numerous other features- from my brief hurried look;
'Wolf' air intake covers
Military front (recovery) bumper
JATE rings
130 wheel rims
Hand-rails along the roof (observation hatches?)
I'm presuming it's an ex-Northern Ireland vehicle, there wasn't anyone to ask.
A while ago I followed one of the 'full-on'armoured/anti-riot 110's as it was heading towards the force workshops (near jct 41/M1) but it was inide the compound before a photo-opportunity developed.
I understand from another forum that every Force in the country has to have 'Public Order' vehicles at its disposal.

And they want to ban bullbars????
Just look at those edges on the screen guard and on the door windows..... Good job they don't need an SVA with all those charp edges... :)
It's still a Landy though.... Parked on a red route.......On the Pavement..........

I just keep my eyes open & usually have my camera in my pocket at most times

if you remove the body & chop 22 inchs out the middle u get a brilliant base for a bowler cos its got a V8 & salsburys at both ends

Right......
I've been corrected on another forum (after posting the same remarks) by Bob Morrison (the 'LRM' military correspondant) as to the origins of this motor
Quote;
'It's a Courtaulds CAV100, and not ex-Ulster as it has vision blocks in the rear.
It was almost certainly built to their spec, or bought by 'Plod' as a shop-soiled demonstrator from Courtaulds'
Unquote.
