19mm rings a bell...

But i cant remember if you can get a socket in there..

I think it might need to be a ring spanner.

So, a really stupid question, will the fixings on this Landy be metric or imperial?

Yep you are probably right as it is a 1988 car with a later TDi 300 engine, now where did I put all those old imperial spanners when I bought my Suzuki  :D  :D  :D

One of the Land Rover suppliers was selling these.  I fitted one to the 101.  Was very handy actually - so much so that I'll get one for the TD5 I think!  The only thing I'd say was that it took a long time for the oil to drain through the small hole.

If anybody remembers which supplier sells them, please remind me...

Got it - it was difflock.com - but their shop's offline at the moment.  The benefit of getting it from them is they sell them by engine type, not by fitting size, so you'll get the right fitting.

I've got one of them fitted too. Yes they are are well worth it, makes draining much less messy, and should you overfill you can just take a bit out again.

i can also vouch for the drain plug. used them on my 300 and now the td5.
The Difflock shop should be back on line very shortly. its changed hands and given a bit of time it should be bigger and better than ever.
