Title: Important lesson learned
Post by: Evilgoat on October 28, 2007, 18:03:25
While playing in a 4x4 in the rain I will remeber that not ALL puddles are fair game. In particular I will avoid the slightly green looking ones at the edge of farm land.

2 dunks through the ford and a blast up the motorway and it doesnt smell too strongly of cow/pig/dead things/slurry anymore.

My old Sergeant in Norfolk took the nice new TD5 90 that had just been delivered out and he ended up sticking the nose into a dyke (can I say that?) that was full of run off from a slurry pond.
The car honked for weeks after. Birty Dugger!

we had one on a green lane in newbery.
the lane ran along side a pig farm and all the slurry drained down into the lane.

we all crawled through it, but one chap decided to play silly [!Expletive Deleted!].

roof down  windows open and woosh.
one interior full of pig [!Expletive Deleted!].

oh how we laughed.

have you seen the episode of vicar of dibley where dawn french tries to splash a puddle and falls in :)

just remember that slurry puddles are darker and thicker :)

but dont get rid of the smell since people will think you are a farmer :)

Reminds me of the time an old friend fell into a slurry lagoon whilst acting the goat.
We were all laughing sooo hard, we ended up on our knees.
Luckily enough, there was a rope handy & we managed to pull him out.
After hosing him off, we threw him into an old cattle trailer & towed him home, cos he stunk to high heaven.
His mother had the last laugh cos she made him strip naked at the back door & scrubbed him from head to toe with disinfectant before letting anywhere near the shower.
