Title: what sized rim?

ok im looking to bye some 265 wide tyres and was woundering wether they should be on a 7 or 8 inch wide rim?
as im replacing my rims aswell i thought it best to get the best suited rim :shock:
any ideas??

should be fine on a 7. its  not too critical with big sidewalled landy tyres.

7 is fine so they will fit boost alloys, standard modulars etc no problem.

just out of interest what is the largest tyre that can be SAFELY fitted to a 7 inch rim? :D

Depends on the tyre, for instance the BFG AT (http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/specs/all-terrain-t-a-ko/44.html) in 275 width will fit a 7" rim. So have a look at the manufacturer's website for spec sheets, or ask your tyre suplier what the manufacturer's recommendations are.

And if they cant tell you, ask yourself if you want their tyres.

Generally somthing in the region of 285
