Title: Meatloaf takes ill on stage
Post by: bensonsnuts on November 01, 2007, 14:22:23
We were at Newcastle Arena last night when Meatloaf took ill annouced this would be his last show and left the stage mid-concert .
My daughter has mobile phone video of this ( about 1min 40 sec ) and I wondered if it would be worth anything ?
I hope he's OK but those tickets were expensive

His concerts arent worth the money anymore, even bat out of hell 3 sounded really bad.  He just doesnt have the voice to do it on album let alone live anymore.

We saw him couple of yers ago at Manchester and it was a complete waste of money.

I wish i had seen him in his prime though as those shows were extremely fantastic.

Have to say I thought twice about going to see him . I had the opportunity a few months ago when he was last at Newcastle and decided against it as his voice is definitely fading . As for Bat 3..... I think that's pretty poor ! The best song on there wouldn't have made it as a bonus track on the original Bat out of Hell .
I think that's part of the problem .....make a superb album 1st and it's all downhill  :(
I only went this time as some friends said what a great show I missed  :?
I saw him a lot of years ago and he owned the stage .....not now
It will be interesting to see him complete the rest of his tour . I just hope he doesn't peg out on stage !

Meatloaf did cancel Birmingham but has been recheduled towards the end of the month

At the moment Nottingham is still on as far as the venue knows, so just got to wait and see, thing is I have someone who has to take time off from work to come down to watch it, and this last minute b/s is no help for them

Quote
Doctors have diagnosed Meat Loaf with an inter-vocal cord cyst. As a result, the following remaining dates on Meat Loaf’s Three Bats Tour – which was to offer fans in upcoming arenas a rare chance to see their favorite singer live for the third time this year – have been cancelled:

06.11.07 London, UK Wembley Arena
08.11.07 Nottingham, UK Nottingham Arena
11.11.07 Cardiff, UK Cardiff Arena
13.11.07 Horsens, DEN Forum
15.11.07 Bergen, NOR Grieghallen
17.11.07 Stockholm, SWE Hovet
20.11.07 Rotterdam, NET Ahoy
22.11.07 Belfast, UK Odyssey
24.11.07 Killarney, IRE INEC
27.11.07 Manchester, UK MEN Arena
29.11.07 Birmingham, UK Birmingham NEC

Additional information for current ticketholders will be available shortly on meatloaf.net.

While most cysts of this type require surgery, voice therapy is usually conducted first to determine if it is necessary. It will be known in approximately four to six weeks what further course of action may be required.

Said Meat Loaf, “It really breaks my heart not to be able to perform these shows. I was really looking forward to capping off a great year and celebrating the start of the holidays with the fans. But I have to do what the doctors tell me so I can look forward to healing and coming back strong in 2008. Let me dispel any rumors before they start – I will be back.”

Seen him back in 1981 in Dublin Eire, got to say he was fantastic then but would not go even if the ticket was free now, his voice has long since left him, think it was when he lost all that wieght

I was going to ask too!

Must be a bit of a dissappointment if you had tickets. He's not my scene, but I can sympathise.

According to the radio last night he has said he's not now going to retire. I didn't realsied he said he had!!
