Post by: GREENI on November 02, 2007, 19:50:09
As it's so noisy around here with the fireworks,
the cats are in the dressing room rocking out to AC/DC !!!
Only 3 more nights to go !!

Just been out for a walk with our Cocker (of the working variety).  He was an absolute nightmare!!  Not because of the noise, but every time a firework went up, he wanted to chase it.

And before everybody says I'm cruel taking him out, I take him shooting with the 12 bore, so he's used to loud bangs and is not scared by them.

Our hound starts barking at them like mad and wont shut up ............ so spends the night in the house (she normally lives outside).

But the ought to put a blummin curfew on the letting off of fireworks. She was inside last night because of the fireworks, all goes quiet by half nine, take her out n feed her about half ten - no probs. Then at 11:30pm just as we're going to bed, someone lets of another slavo of fireworks and she's upset, barking her head off again!!! Grrrrrrrr

As I am getting ready to go and taste as much lager as my liver will allow.I,ve left my Manchester Terrier at my mothers .The damn thing is on tranqilisers and she is still shaking like a leaf .And to think I got her to take shooting  .My mothers Shih Tzu is stood there watching the prettey flashes not a care in the world. It think its too stupid to be worried  .I,m thinking of standing in the back garden and fire a shotgun in the air I dont think anyone would notice the difference.

There is http://www.berr.gov.uk/fireworks/law.htm it just happens to be ignored and pretty well unenforceable.

Our Beagle watches them out of the window, or goes outside to watch. Not sure why she's not bothered, maybe cos she was outside when she saw / heard her first one a few years ago - dogs gotta pee too.

But, she is sh.. scared of the vac!

Learn something everyday - Common sense ought to tell 'em that mate (sadly a commodity lacking in most areas of society today)

What about New Years Eve? .......... all the fireworks at midnight - must need some sort of special licence for that then at the organised displays?

Actualy had to leave the room the dog was in for safety sake at one point earlier.

Was at an agility competition a few weeks ago with a clay pigeon shoot in the next field and she never batted an eyelid to the noise then.  Actualy got clear rounds which is a first at competitions
