Looking round the Mud Club site and there is references to Red Dwarf here and there...
So how many of us are fans of the classic Red Dwarf?
-
I put yes, but I only enjoyed the early series'
The later ones lost it somewhere.....
-
I loved it all, was well gutted they never finished season 8 or made a season 9.
-
Kind of went downhill after series 6.
But then it was only one of the original writers left.
-
I thought they were making a new series with Alan Johnson in the Role of Holly

(Im only saying that new he's ok!)
-
oh yes ....
as said before tho ...kinda went and lost the plot after series 6 ....
anyone heard about the film they were suposed to be making
-
Unless the film was as much of the origional cast and writers as possible it would probably only ruin the series for some.
I was royally dissapointed having seen the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy film, but the graphics and such were good
-
I've always enjoyed Red Dwarf, but have to agree that later ones were nowhere near as good. Although I do like Hattie Hayridge as Holly. the dumb blonde approach just seems to work!

It would have been better if "Holly" (egg-head man version) remained on the red dwarf computer, and blond woman "Holly" stayed on starbug / dave's watch IMO

Do you even have to ask??
-
The film stalled. Last I heard they had go to the point of being ready to film, but no-one seems to want to stump up the cash :(

"You don't think there's anything amiss? I'm sitting here wearing a red and white checked gingham dress and army boots and you think that's un-amiss?"

Read the books I think theres three of them) They are laugh out loud hilarious!!!
-
I enjoyed all the series.I know what people mean about them losing it a bit.But the idea was so good I let it carry me along. How many times did Lister have him appendix removed ?. No one could be a sexy as Claire Grogan as Kochanski :(biglove):
-
Holly: Rude alert! Rude alert! An electrical fire has
knocked out my voice recognition unicycle! Many
Wurlitzers are missing from my database. Abandon
shop! This is not a daffodil. Repeat, this is not a
daffodil.
Rimmer: Well, thankfully Holly's unaffected.
-
Much as i watched all the series i agree with the masses that it dropped away from series 6.
For the ultimate Red Dwarf though, read the books.
I've read the first 2 and they were brilliant.
I love the chapter explaining the whole cat evolution and their war's
I'm about to start reading the Last Human book.
I just found it in a charity shop for £1
Future Echo's is my favorite TV episode with Better Than Life coming a close second.

i loved red dwarf and moddelled myself on lister for some time....
i`m actually planning my first tatoo shortley..
Ouroboros...
"our rob.. or ros"
the mutton vindaloo beast is the most memorable, and i had to watch on video (thanks to local charity shops/boot sales) up to the episode where the holly hop drive changed norman lovett into hatty haydridge, as even my dad, the second biggest fan, didnt have a clue when or how they swapped!
...and agree, later episodes were not a patch on the early ones!
-
Better than life was hilarious ... and the one where everything is backwards :)
Please rush me my portable walrus polishing kit. Four super brushes that will clean even the trickiest of seabound mammals.
-
I have Listers taste bud or two depending whice one your watching. I love hot food.

-
the best were the first few serise
i like kryten best with out him the show couldnt run :D
-
Anyone seen the USA remake of it? Just not funny, at all. One of them's a girl for heaven's sake, I'm not sexist but that just ruins the joke.
"I want to go dancing, I want to meet girls, I want to make love..."
"well junior angling's the best you're gonna get out of me, buddie"
-
has it got the same name then
-
That I don't remeber, but I think there was only one series
-
There were two pilot episodes, one is more "common" than the other (and arguably a more realistic attempt) and had Robert Llewyln in it as Kryton from the start.
The "female" in question was Cat and was played by Terry Farrell of Deep Space 9 fame...
-
Was there ever a Film made?
Rich
-
don't think so ....
they ran out a dosh ...and no-one was prepared to cough up
-
Do you even have to ask??
Thought that was from black adder not red dwarf.
And yea i like red dwarf. Hence the disco's name.

Classic BBC comedy...
...you know, back in the day when you could still get comedy that didn't have americans shouting at one another while the audience 'whoop and holler'!
Whatever happened to quality comedy?
Two Ronnies
Morecombe & Wise
Only Fools..
The list is endless and all performed by our excellent British actors.
You know the stuff I mean.
-
it all got replaced by this damned mindless nonsense they call reality tv
-
thats true... bring back entertainment :D
