I'd agree with you Suggs, if it's in decent nik with test, I'd say it's worth about 1.5 to 2 grand

depends on how bad he wants it, and whats been done to it, i dont value mine at the over 10grand ive spent on it in the last 4 months, probably worth 5 on a good day.

the dealer took it in as a px and as its far to old for them it was destined for auction were it wouldnt make anywere near 3k, they probley only gave about £1000-1200 for it anyway. my mate whent in there and said he had 3k to spend on a 90 and they said you can have this for 3k as a trade sale

i think there be lucky to get £2000 at auction and are being greedy.

anyway ive found him a really straight looking box standerd un-molested 200tdi with a recon engine for similar money and its a 1991, he's off to see it tomorow

i have learnt were dealers are concerned never say how much you have to spend, if it was going to head off to auction just make them an offer and see what they say

Have a good look at it.  Decide what its worth, ask what auction they send em to and go bid on it.

At least your one step ahead of all the other bidders having had a good look and test drive etc.....
