Actually had quite a good weekend for a change!
The hotel has been taken over by a group of 4x4 owners from darn sarf for the last 2 days. Car park full of wonderful muddy machines with winches and roll cages etc. They made my job wonderfully easy by leaving a pot full of cash behind the bar, so all I had to do was just pour the beer and put it on the bar for 'em, no faffing about waiting for people to pay up, or disappearing to the toilet halfway through ordering rounds!
Then they managed to convince the bosses to give me yesterday afternoon off as they wanted someone with them who knew the area. Afterwards they had a whip round for me as well so I could have a few pints, and from what I was given I think I'd end up in an ambulance at the end of the night instead of a taxi.
So we decided to head down to Strata Florida for the morning, then back upto the Nant Y Moch area for the afternoon. I think I must have been one of the only ones not to get stuck.
Then over the CB we here one of the guys a fair way back say "Got water in the engine". Then hear manic laughter when all his mates realise it's the bloke who's just spent thousands having his V8 rebuilt, but decided not to fit a snorkel. So we tow him to the end of the lane to suitably large, flat workshop area where we're not blocking other users, and an hour later a group effort sees the V8 roar back to life.
And now I've just fetched my trolley jack for my gf's dad, as he suspected brake problems from a noise coming from the front. He's just come back in now with a face like a slapped backside, having discovered one of his wheel bearings is non existant.
Yet mine seems to be running fine, the rev gauge has even started working properly again! (Uhoh, I've cursed it now....)

I.ve just spent 3 hours trying get a disco back to life, but couldn't be really bothered. So i'm going rag all the good bits off it and scrap it!!
Is nice to see some people having a good weekend...
I'm gonna go laning now, cheer myself up :wink:

I put a slave cylinder on the clutch, when I manouvered the pushrod to go in the slave cylinder, it popped out of the release fork :evil:
So now the clutch pedal is solid and won't depresss...ggrrrr
Im just having a hissy-fit-sulk :shock:
I'll probably try again some other day!!
