Title: Large fire in E London (Stratford area)
Post by: hobbit on November 12, 2007, 13:07:17
Looks like a factory on an industrial site near where they are working on the Olypic building site

Loads of smoke, wonder if its a tyre wharehouse or something

Should be viewable for miles from there

Wasn't the bus factory, but it was an old wharehouse, when I went out this afternoon the tv was showing it was getting it under control

I think the locals said it may have been textiles, will have a look tonight when I get the chance

It would not have taken that long.... when I was a fireman I worked at Stratford a few times and I know the journey would have been far less than that. Some of the later appliances attending may have taken that long if they were coming from further away and if the traffic (sightseeing nerds) was heavy :?

I think so.... I saw the smoke from my office window and it was not visible at about 4pm. The fire brigade will most likely be on scene for quite a few hours yet

Cool,  let's build a major sporting venue there since it's obvious transport links aren't a problem :D

they think its foul play as they needed to remove the aspestos the right way and now because of the fire it has to be torn down over the next few days saves them a fortune doing it this way i work for lfb we got the call  i beleve around 15 mins after the fire started :(thinkhard):
