oddly i seem to have a spark and when i take of fuel leads in the engine bay i get juice comeing out.i dont wana leave off the fuel pipe too long as not keen on havin petrol everywhere,so duno if there is just a small amount trere or a proper suply.anyone think it could be the filter in the fuel tank?if so how do i get the plastic ring off to get it out as i dont have the proper tool

Sounded like mine when the coil packed up. It did it after a missfire (drowning) so it could be a similar thing caused by that rotor arm.
-
shes running now seems to be ok,changed the rotor arm and stuck on an old coil i had.duno if the rotor arm going took the last bit of life outa the coil?just hopes she stays running this time!

My sentiments exactly :D

i have the lucas dizzy cap and i have a rotor arm arriving from landrover dealer on friday!cost about as much as a new disco!lol

Your rubbish rotor arm allowed the plugs to foul up by missing some of the sparks .. hence run for a while then stall. So yup you have done the right thing :)

Trouble is there's no such thing as a Lucas Dizzy cap or arm anymore. If you get one with Lucas stamped on it, keep it safe, they are very rare now. Lucas as a company no longer exists and the expensive dizzy cap I bought from the stealers look exaclty the same as the dodgy one I bought from Halfrauds.
