got a 200tdi and its puffing smoke out from the oil cap.
anyone know what this could be down to. thanks
-
if its chuffing quite a lot from there you may be looking at the headgasket failed between o piston and an oil way
-
think its the rings as took the breather of and its like a steam train. anyone got a spare engine or a cheap [!Expletive Deleted!] green 3dr disco for sale
-
doesnt have to be the rings remember if the headgasket fails on an oil way it pressures the crankcase
-
its more than likely the head mate mine did that when it went but if you want me to have a look bring it over one night n we can have a good look n see what we can do :D
-
could also be the valve steam oil seals when worn you are presuerising the engine as gassas pass the seals into the engine
-
its probably rings Im afraid. my bro in laws one done just the same thing a few weeks back.
blowing oil from the breathers and the cap area even when the cap was fitted.
if its valve stem oil seals they are dead easy to do - done mine the other week when i had the head off to do the head gasket. Got the spring compressor here if need to borrow one.
